These paintings were created in fits of passion, play, and labored love. Though abstraction tends to indicate the shifting or tweaking of perception, these paintings do not attempt to re-interpret nature, figure, or objects. I tend to think they are more closely akin to a musical composition, keying off emotional and instinctual knowledge.
